Why book?
For a chic city wedding reception in the heart of Knightsbridge. Pavilion Club is home to one of London’s best kept secrets – a terrace overlooking Hyde Park – alongside seasonally changing menus paired with fine wines.
Venue style
The sister establishment to the rustic-luxe Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk, this members club was always set to be a stylish city hub. Set over six swishy floors, it is first and foremost a members club, and while non-members are able to host events here, there’s that palpable sense of exclusivity you’d want from a wedding venue, one that feels a little special.
Its central location in the heart of Knightsbridge, makes any stylish reception within easy reach, with up to 100 guests able to fully let their hair down and not fret over flights or cabs booked months in advance. The lack of a ceremony space makes it ideal for couples planning a registry office wedding, particularly if it’s at one of the nearby Kensington, Chelsea or Westminster town halls, or religious ceremony in a W1 church. These year-round wedding celebrations are dialled up the Hyde Park backdrop, in its various seasonal coats.
Set the scene
By day this members’ club serves as a hub for young movers and shakers, and by night a playful inner-city spot – the main bar typically springs to life around 6pm as the creative set clock off for the day. For newlyweds, come night or day, the uplit stone facade of this exclusive members’ club makes for a beautiful entrance. Inside, the art deco interiors add intrigue to the colourful spaces, with a central bar and sweeping staircase wowing as guests enter. But the real show stopper lies above the treetops, with a lift shooting the wedding party up to the Roof Terrace and its mesmerising views across the park and city.
Event spaces
Whether couples opt for a standing cocktail party-style wedding or a seated dinner (or both), there’s flexibility across the two main spaces at Pavilion Club.
The exquisite Red Room is perfect for those looking to host an intimate wedding reception, with a banqueting table seating 14 guests. This vivacious, achingly stylish private dining room feels worlds away from the staid traditional set-up, with deep red panelled walls lined with modern artworks. It’s the ultimate setting for a truly private celebration.
If views are high on the agenda when hunting down a wedding celebration spot, the Roof Terrace (one London’s newest, hidden gems), offers sweeping views over Hyde Park – the New York style you never knew existed in London. The dedicated team here can work couples’ visions into the canvas-like inside space here and the outdoor section has a retractable roof (and heaters for winter months) making it the perfect space for all seasons. Come summer, the sun-drenched terrace is hard to beat for an al fresco city celebration and can accommodate up to 100 guests.
Food and drink
Couples with high foodie standards will fall head over heels for Pavilion Clubs menus and their approach to finding the right food for your wedding. This is mainly thanks to the clubs unwavering commitment to seasonal-local British ingredients and menus with a twist (and eagle eye for an eye-rollingly good canapé). Typically, the format goes that Champagne receptions are accompanied by exquisite canapés, followed by a three-course wedding breakfast paired with fine wines – all of which can be tailored to match any dietary requirements.
The story
The buzz began as more of a quiet hum when Pavilion Club Knightsbridge opened its doors in 2021. And as the story tends to go with the very best members’ clubs, word soon spread around certain circles, mainly as a whisper, until Pavilion Club quickly and quietly consolidated itself as one of the city’s finest, plugged-in spots in the city to type by day and cocktail by night. The statement building was originally built for the London & Country Bank back in 1884, and today sits within the property portfolio of entrepreneur Jon Hunt, alongside Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk.
