After what felt like an incredibly mild October, the temperature has finally dropped. I’ve upped my dose of honey and ginger tea, am trying to be vigilant with my supplements, and am embracing early nights and skincare rituals. My mood board is an eclectic mix of Italian summer escapes, statement winter coats, and colourful tablescapes.
The Wedding Presents
Pintora Tablesets from Sharland England – These coloured ceramics are hand-painted in rural Spain, using traditional techniques. I love them as a fun set for newlyweds and think they look fab when mixed and matched too.
The Padstow Suitcase from Hey Chesto – I love the vintage feel of these suitcases. They remind me of something from an Evelyn Waugh novel. I love that they are relatively lightweight. Stylish luggage is the epitome of chic when traveling and these would be perfect for a honeymoon.
The Date Night Restaurant – Barrafina Borough Yards
There is something infinitely romantic about eating at the bar. Being able to rub shoulders and whisper with your lover as you share plates of steaming hot croquetas, glistening pink gambas, and Pan con Tomate is a date night destined to end with at least a kiss. Barrafina has long been the expert in the bar seating scene, dishing up some of the best Spanish tapas in London. Their newest site in Borough Yards boasts an impressive marble-topped stretch that looks into their open kitchen. Always go for the classics but make sure to save room for their weekly changing specials too. The Manchego cheesecake is nothing short of a love story.
The Getaway – Hotel Nordelaia, Italy
A world away from the claustrophobia and crowds that of so many Italian honeymoon hotspots, Nordelaia sits on its very own vine-covered hillside overlooking the stunning countryside of the Monferrat area of Piedmont. This lesser-explored region of Italy is the perfect destination for a long weekend away any time of year. Those with a taste for adventure can enjoy wine tasting, truffle hunting, and a medley of hikes whilst those looking to slow down can dip between Nordelaia’s handsome infinity pool and spa. At the heart of Nordelaia is its fine dining restaurant L’Orto. Expect dishes that both celebrate and innovate classic Italian recipes in equal measure. Less than two hours from Turin or Milan, Nordelaia is one to add to your weekend-away bucket list. I visited earlier this year in June whilst on my honeymoon and am longing to return for a winter escape.
The Pre-Bridal Treatment -The Winter Cleanse from Radiance Cleanse
I’ve been a fan of radiance cleanse for years. Their juices are the only ones I’ve found that really taste delicious. I try and do one of their cleanses each winter to keep colds away and did one before my wedding too. This is a seasonal version of their best-selling Signature Cleanse which has been tweaked for the winter months. I’ve never had much luck with hard-core cleansing and feel the most benefit when I simply incorporate them into my day-to-day as a boost. I wrote a bit more about my approach here.
The Honeymoon Wardrobe – The Selena Dress from Casa Raki
I’m always looking for lightweight dresses that are easy to pack when traveling and love this dress from Casa Raki. Made from Belgium organic linen, it comes in four colours. I love the vibrancy of this burnt orange. Swap sandals for a pair of heels and add some statement gold jewellery to take it from day to night.
Lusting over – These Scallop Coasters From Addison Ross
Coasters are having a comeback and I love these scallop ones from Addison Ross. Lacquered in a high gloss they are easy to wipe down and add a joyous pop of colour to any table.
Can’t live without – Dr. David Jack Good Night Night Cream
I’ve been incredibly inconsistent with my nightly skincare routine in the past. I switched to this night cream about six months before my wedding and it was a game changer. Rather than having to use various serums every night, this has everything I need in one.
