On the 25th of October, The Wedding Edition and Skydiamond hosted a very special event up in the sky at The Shangri-La The Shard, London. It was a glittering evening dripping in diamonds to celebrate the official launch of the world’s only sustainable diamonds. The exclusive guest list included Georgia Toffolo, Nell Hudson, Josie Fear, Alice Liveing, Anna Van Der Hulst, Zeena Shah, Fran Newman-Young, Anisa Sojka, Lilah Parsons, Leanora Smee, Alexandra Dudley, Debbie Le, Olivia Gregorian, Sade Akinsanya and more.
Skydiamond Launch Party
Guests entered down the hotel’s grand sweeping staircase into the foyer which boasts dramatic views of The River Thames, and The City of London and Tower Bridge over to the Tower of London, the home of the Crown Jewels. The intimate crowd sipped on Perrier Jouët Grand Brut and tried on Skydiamond jewellery for the very first time. Guests then moved into the Ren Ballroom, where they sampled a three course vegan menu created in-house by the Shangri-La’s executive chef, paired with Perrier Jouet and followed by Monkey 47 cocktails.
The Wedding Edition’s Technology Editor, Natalie Salmon, interviewed the founder of SkyDiamond, Dale Vince OBE, allowing guests to learn all about this new wave of diamonds.
The jaw-dropping flowers displays were designed by The Real Flower Company who are pioneers in sustainability, Alice Wilkes styled the event with table settings provided by Maison Margaux. The DJ was provided by MYMUSO.
Everyone left on a high, having been gifted their very own SkyDiamond and personalised sketch by fashion illustrator Nastach Joseph.
