Under the azure of a Christmasy Hyde Park dazzling in the background, on November 29th, The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park’s Loggia transformed into a breathtaking display of festive extravagance as The Wedding Edition partnered with Boodles to orchestrate a truly unforgettable luncheon. The Loggia, masterfully styled by the visionary Alice Wilkes and adorned with enchanting florals curated by Fiona Fleur, emanated an over-the-top Christmas glam tree that enraptured the senses. Esteemed guests, including Onyi Mossi, Alexandra Dudley, Sabrina Percy, Yasmine Naghdi, Noorie Ana, and more, indulged in the delightful Louis Roederer, creating an atmosphere shimmering with anticipation and joy.
Before the luncheon unfolded in the Loggia, guests were not merely spectators to Boodles’ brilliance; they were invited to partake in the magic. The air buzzed with excitement as guests had the privilege of trying on the new dazzling collection from Boodles, an immersive experience that transformed the luncheon into a grand soirée. The clinking of Boodles jewels became a symphony, harmonizing with the ethereal surroundings and infusing the atmosphere with an extra layer of enchantment.
A standout moment was an enlightening interview orchestrated by TWE.’s contributing jewellery editor, Sarah Royce-Greensill, who engaged in a captivating conversation with Boodles’ Honour Wainwright. Casting a spotlight on the brand’s unwavering dedication to traceability and sustainability, the interview provided guests with a profound understanding of Boodles’ exceptional ethos. The brand’s commitment to ethical practices is evident in its seamless fusion of tradition and forward-thinking, ensuring that each piece not only exudes glamour but also narrates a tale of responsibility. Boodles’ recent acclaim as the British Luxury Brand of the Year serves as a testament to their enduring commitment to excellence, sustainability, and the exquisite artistry that defines their jewellery.
The luncheon unfurled like a symphony of opulence with ethereal harp melodies by Olivia Jageurs, whose celestial notes added a touch of enchantment to the Christmasy festivities. Alice Wilkes, a maestro of elegance, and her team skillfully executed their design on the tablescape, weaving a tapestry of meticulous details. Abundant roses, strategically placed by the enchanting Fiona Fleur, brought vitality to the light-filled Loggia room. Maison Margaux added impeccable touches to the tablescape, and the flickering candles by Candle Flaire cast an enchanting spell over the gathering. Ruth Kaye’s menus, golden-foiled masterpieces resembling ancient scrolls, hinted at the culinary delights that awaited, promising a feast for both the eyes and the palate. As guests settled into their seats, personalized napkins from The Embroidered Napkin Company awaited them—a chic touch, underscoring the meticulous attention to detail infused into every facet of this stylish luncheon.
As the culinary journey unfolded, the captivating narrative of sustainability and traceability was seamlessly extended by Alexandra Tilling, the esteemed Louis Roederer Champagne ambassador. Her expertise and passion added an exquisite layer to the dining experience, as she artfully paired each dish with the finest champagnes, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. To start Globe artichoke tart with Montgomery cheddar and truffle, paired beautifully with Louis Roederer Collection 244. Onto the main, Pan-seared Devonshire sea bass fillet with bouillabaisse sauce and trout caviar with the show-stopper from the Louis Roedered collection, a bottle of Cristal 2015. And finally, for dessert, The Mandarin Cake Shop presented the most special mascarpone mousse with strawberry jelly and almond biscuit with an exciting Champagne finish – Louis Roederer et Philippe Starck Brut Nature Rosé 2015.
Guests also took home an exclusive 111Skin goodie bag—an enticing keepsake to carry home, adding an extra layer of indulgence to this unforgettable evening. The luncheon, a sensory feast, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all in attendance. The Wedding Edition’s Over-the-Top Christmas Glam Luncheon at The Mandarin Oriental was not just an event; it was a celebration of refined living, festive cheer, and the magic of the holiday season.
