It’s no secret that top makeup artists have used world-renowned cosmetics brand Laura Mercier for decades. As the products deliver the perfect combination of skincare and makeup – and always give a flawless, natural finish – they’re also one of contributing beauty editor Yasmin Salmon’s favourite brands for brides. Want to achieve a gorgeous bridal look using Laura Mercier? Here’s an exclusive ‘step by step’ by Yasmin for The Wedding Edition readers.
Step 1 – Primer
After I’ve moisturised my skin, I apply primer. I use the Pure canvas primer. I always like to use a primer before applying foundation as this always gives the skin a smooth base and evens out the skins texture. Which is super important if you want to achieve that flawless finish. Like a moisturiser I massage the primer all over the face.

Step 2 – Tinted Moisturiser
After I’ve applied the primer, I move straight onto evening out the complexion. My go to this summer has been Laura Mercier’s oil free tinted moisturiser. The reason I usually go for an oil free tinted moisturiser is so that my skin doesn’t feel or look as oily throughout the day but gives me a natural finished base.

Step 3 – Concealer
Once I’m happy with the base. I apply the Flawless fusion concealer which is amazing at covering up any redness and dark circles. When it comes to applying concealer, I always Focus the product on the inner and outer corner of the eye, and then gently blend it out with a concealer brush or my index finger, as close to the lower lash line as possible. This will help the eyes look a lot more awake and brighter. I also apply a small amount around the nose and any imperfections I might have that day.

Step 4 – Powder
The award winning Translucent loose setting powder from Laura Mercier will be your new best friend. It is always best to apply it straight after concealer. This will prevent any increasing from happening under the eyes from the concealer and is guaranteed to give you the most epic flawless finish!
It is no surprise this is one of Laura Merciers best sellers!
The setting powder is the No. 1 setting powder in the UK.

Step 5 – Eyes
Moving now to eyes, I always like to warm up the eyes using a bronzer or a light warm brown shade in the crease. This will also make it easier for blending later on. For this I use Matte radiance baked powder in shade Bronze-03.

To create a smoky effect, I applied the Longwear Crème Eye Pencil in shade Espresso above the lash line. I then went in with a smudging brush and teased out the liner to give it a more buffed-out effect.

I enhanced and lifted the outer corners of the eyes with Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colour in shade Cocoa. I mostly focus the product on the very outer corner of the eye – then, going in with a large blending brush, I blended the shadow up and out past the crease. This creates a soft, smoky look.

To brighten the inner corner I applied the caviar stick eye colour in shade wild rose. Which is a really pigmented shimmery shadow. What I love about the shadow is that it looks amazing on its own or on top of other shadows.

To finish off the eyes I apply the Caviar Volume Panoramic Mascara. This mascara is super pigmented, so your lashes look extra luscious and long! It also conditions lashes, making them feel super soft.

Step 6 – Brows
When it comes to brows, I always like to brush up the hairs. So I can really see the shape of the brow and see where I need filling in. To achieve a clean brow look I always reach for Laura Mercier’s eyebrow pencil in warm brunette. This brow pencil has a more coal like finish making it super easy to blend into the skin. Giving you a defined and clean brow.

Step 7 – Blush
There is no such thing as too much blush! The tinted moisturiser blush is one of Laura Mercier’s newer products. Blush is amazing forgiving you that healthy wash of colour whilst also making you look youthful and Sunkissed. I like to apply this blush to the apples of my cheeks and with the remaining product I add a little bit to the bridge of my nose. To make it look like you’ve just stepped out of the Sun.

Step 8 – Bronzer
To bring back the warmth to the skin I apply the same matte radiance baked powder in shade bronze-03. I like to apply bronzer to the areas that I would naturally catch the Sun. Which include the tops of the cheeks, bridge of nose and the top of the forehead and chin.

Step 9 – Highlighter
When it comes to high later, I always tend to reach for a cream. But after trying the rose glow highlighting powder I have been swayed. This formula is so pigmented that little goes a long way. When it comes to applying highlighter, I always focus on the top of the cheekbones, on the eyebrow bone, tip of the nose and cupids bow.

Step 10 – Lips
To finish off the bridal make up look I apply the longwear lipliner in shade rosewood. When applying lipliner I always like to slightly overline my lips to make them look plump and full.

Then going in with the coral nu lipstick, I apply a gradual amount and buff it out with my fingers. To give my lips a slight tint of coral shade. Coral is one of my favourite shades to use this summer!

To keep my lips hydrated throughout the day I always carry a great lip gloss. Laura Mercier’s lip glace in shade rose is a top contender. I always like to go for a neutral light shade so I don’t have to worry too much about smudging through the day.
