Hannah Evitts started her career managing events in Harrods straight from university – she had this great plan to go traveling after graduation and fortunately, was offered an incredible opportunity working in the world’s leading department store. After two years, she moved to Claridge’s where she expanded her experience and fell in love with planning weddings. Hannah started as Head of Events at Bulgari Hotel London almost a year ago and finds it truly feels as though she has been part of this incredible family from the very beginning when they first opened their doors in 2012 – Hannah finds it a truly special hotel to work in with so many exciting things taking place this year.
How would you describe Bulgari Hotel London?
Bulgari Hotel London is a completely different experience to your classic London venue. The design is high end Italian, with a timeless contemporary feel, there is a warmth and a sense of fun, alongside pure magnificence in service and quality. We have a lot of heritage associated with the brands founding days during La Dolce Vita when it first became the jeweller of choice for the world’s greatest film stars and musicians – Glamour at its finest!
Tell us something most people don’t know about Bulgari Hotel London?
We are a purpose built hotel which lends itself to many benefits. We are 10 years young having opened our doors in 2012, the third addition to the growing collection of Bulgari Hotels & Resorts – Interestingly it was also the first new hotel built in London in over 40 years!! This meant it was designed to incorporate the highest standards of environmental sustainability, another plus for our brides and grooms.
What kind of people hang out here?
We welcome a variety of guests through our doors. We are a contemporary hotel that attracts a younger crowd than your average traditional British hotel – We have a high percentage of regular guests, which contributes to the warm and relaxed overall atmosphere. We pride ourselves on the high quality Italian design that attracts many who are looking for an environment of quality and timeless glamour matched with our informal and authentic service. One of my favourite things about working at Bulgari Hotel London is getting to know our guests and creating a special relationship with them, being a part of the hotel seems to feel like a way of life for our guests.
Who has checked into Bulgari Hotel London over the years?
Oh yes, there is never a dull moment! However, I couldn’t possibly reveal whom as they stay with us for our discretion so I’m afraid my lips are sealed! Although it’s not just our service which is discreet and professional but the hotel itself. If you walked past the entrance of the hotel without coming inside you would never know the glamourous space that awaits inside.
Who’s thrown parties here, any stand out stories? And famous weddings?
A list film stars, music legends, fashionistas, chefs… the list is endless!
Who’s the chef and what’s your favourite dish?
This is simple, our Exotic Mono Porzioni! ‘Dolci’ created especially for The Bulgari Lounge by our Executive Pastry Chef Daniele Maresca alongside our resident chocolatier chef Gianluca Fusto – the layers of Alphonso mango and passion fruit melt in your mouth, it’s hard to resist!
Any hidden corners at Bulgari Hotel London?
We have our own private cinema that is well known amongst the film world, but often a surprise treat for guests when they are staying in house. Lots of guests book the cinema for a private film viewing, but it’s also a favourite to pop that ever important 4 word question and wedding album celebrations, not to mention all the children’s parties!!
We also have Nolita Social, our speak-easy bar situated below our Italian restaurant Sette which is perfect for engagement parties, and always stops people in their tracks whenever they come to see the space.
Favourite room to stay in at Bulgari Hotel London?
Without question one of the Bulgari Suites, and my favourites are the two with wraparound terraces. They are vast, and incredibly stylish. They’re an entertaining delight, we’ve held a number of intimate wedding celebrations in the living area followed by a drinks reception on the terraces for up to 20 guests. Along with all the sumptuous style they are perfect to enjoy for a romantic escape or with a group of friends.
Favourite spa treatment and why?
This is a difficult one to answer! However, for that red carpet moment I will have to choose the 111Skin Cryotherapy Energy Facial, if I need something more restorative then I find the Mauli treatments really powerful. We’ve also just added Augustinus Bader which specialises in skin renewal and I’m hearing the exclusive Bulgari facial they’ve created for us is in high demand!
What kind of couples get married here?
Luxury, glamour and understated elegance are the words I would choose to describe our style of weddings. We have an extensive menu choice offering a delicious selection that is naturally and proudly served authentically and of excellence. With being a purpose built hotel we have the flexibility of a late license past the standard 1am curfew, a gem that our guests love as there is no end time to celebrating the best night of their lives surrounded by the ones they love the most.
And finally, what’s next for Bulgari Hotel London…
This year is an exciting year with lots of incredible things happening, Bulgari Hotel London will certainly be the talk of the city! We have just started offering an Italian Afternoon Tea in The Bulgari Lounge that’s a new twist on the classic British tea. We are also busy creating special moments for our guests in our gorgeous Ballroom with our special Per Sempre wedding package tailored to go the extra mile for our brides and grooms!
