A Marquee Wedding allows for limitless creativity, no matter how large or small your big day is. They are the perfect blank canvas to allow you to design and create your own wedding venue. That said there are a number of different styles to select from, each with their own advantages and unique design. Below is the Ultimate Guide to a Marquee Wedding.
The Sperry Tent
Firstly, the Sperry Tent. A classic wedding tent and are incredibly popular in their simplicity. The beauty of them is how aesthetically pleasing they are both inside and out, with wonderful structural poles that couples embrace, dressing with installations and focusing on them as features to enhance the wedding décor. Sperry tents are really ideal for those summer weddings, and with curved ends and clear sides, have a soft natural and outdoorsy feel.
The Stretch Tent
A Stretch tent is a more modern, eye catching style that feels like a stretched canopy. Ideal for a gorgeous day, they can be used over the top of a seating area with a bar or entertainment, they are flexible in size and can be used for multiple elements within your day.
Clearspan Marquees
Clearspan marquees are metal framed marquees that can easily be installed, are flexible in size and have a huge range of finishes available to create the look and feel you desire. They are also a wonderful blank canvas with structural frames to allow rigging and installations, so you can go to town with the dressing. Clearspan marquees are perfect when you’d like the benefit of an enclosed space whilst still bringing an element of the outside for lovely views. With the option of having a clear sides and roof, they allow for stunning views; what a lovely touch to star gaze during your wedding reception
Raj Tents
For couples tying the knot and looking for a more unique and effortless feel, we would recommend a Raj tent style. These are the traditional Indian styles, and often have beautifully printed linings of patterned fabric with hand crafted designs. They are the ideal backdrop for soft furnishings, lots of cushions and a relaxed feel. Typically they are square in shape so are perfect for a London garden!
At the top of the budget is the stunning glasshouse style, Orangery. This breath-taking, timeless structure, recently used by the Royals, really gives the wow-factor. With its impressive glass sides it allows for an incredibly lavish feel to your wedding. Its worth noting that the Orangery can turn into a green house so air conditioning is essential for a summer wedding. This marquee style is so exclusive that it is only available from one UK based supplier, so if you can get your hands on it and can afford its price-tag, it is definitely going to make your wedding one to remember.
A quick note on things to consider/mention to your supplier should you have a marquee:
– If you are allowed a marquee built in the space (if this is not within your own private land)
– How much ground space you have to build the marquee
– If the ground is level
– Accommodating to hot/cold, wet or windy weather
– Build time for the structure- Additional kit you may need to accommodate marquees (E.g toilets for guests, power and electricity, space for your catering back of house etc).
