Thanksgiving is all about sharing a festive meal with family and friends you love. But when you’re the host of the Thanksgiving feast, the holiday is also a chance to put your hostessing skills on display. Since the meal is the center point of the entire celebration, curating a perfectly photogenic festive table display is a must-do.
This thanksgiving Gathering’ at The Lanesborough, was a celebration of creative minds and showcasing the power of female collaboration, this fruitful & floral tablescape incorporated traditional and contemporary elements of Thanksgiving for a celebratory gathering. We talk to Antionette Lettier Head of Events & Event Partnerships – Oetker Collection – The Lanesborough and Event Designer and Creative, Alice Wilkes on how they styled the perfect setting in this special guide to thanksgiving tablescaping.
Get Inspired By …
Inspired by the tones & textures of a renaissance painting with all the jewels of Autumn, a Thanksgiving to remember hosted by Antoinette Lettieri in The Library Bar at The Lanesborough; the perfect setting to bring people together with a warm and intimate atmosphere and vibrant ambiance.
Add In Chic Accents
From plates and serving dishes to hand-painted chinoiserie pumpkins, these elegantly decorated dinner accessories will make your Thanksgiving meal feel über-preppy
Play with Colour
Event Designer Alice Wilkes tablescape was inspired by the rich tones of the iconic library bar at the Lanesborough which was chosen as the perfect space to celebrate the occasion. Emerald green linens were complimented with light blue hues for a contemporary touch alongside brass vintage candelabra and serve ware.
Get Creative …
Reusable Happy Crackers asked guests to write what they were thankful for as a celebratory ice breaker at the table and fresh locally sourced produce and British suppliers adorned the setting with a sustainable edge with rented layers items from Maison Margeaux and vintage silver accessories from Fiona Finds. Calligraphy touches adorned autumn leaves recognising what we are thankful for this season.
Lean into Decor…
Dramatic & artistic cascading florals & Autumnal leaves danced around an abundance of nature’s finest fruits; Floral Designer Fiona Fleur used colour-blocking florals for a modernistic narrative in Jewelled Reds, Fireside Orange, Berry Burgundy, and Sunrise Yellows for a warming and seasonal feel. Deep, dark hues played into jewelled greens with pops of saffron yellow Tulips in gold footed vases for a playful mix between the renaissance & contemporary worlds.
The tablescape was completed with individual, custom hand-sewn renaissance tapestry place names by bespoke stationer Ruth Kaye Design.
