Emily Foskett has carved a path as one of the UK’s most exciting gemstone jewellers, Emily Mortimer Jewellery was born from the desire to create beautiful gemstone jewellery to be loved and to last for a lifetime. Emily designs from her studio in Suffolk with her collections receiving critical acclaim and listed with some of the industries finest stockists including Fenwick and John Lewis. Emily’s full line of products can also be found in her store in Deben Wharf, Woodbridge.
I love working in the jewellery industry because….
I am totally addicted to gemstones so not only can I get my fix every day, but it is the best feeling creating jewellery that I love but also that my family, friends, and customers can’t get enough of.
Emily Mortimer Jewellery is best known for…
Stylish statement pieces which add a pop of colour to any look. EM is versatile and vibrant, designed for both the everyday and the extraordinary. I take huge pride in designing jewellery for everyone, EM is affordable but also luxe. It is very important to me each piece is not just something I would wear but also something my Mum would wear.
My biggest achievement to date is…
There have been a few over the last couple of years in terms of business awards and famous faces wearing EM but my store in Suffolk which opened in April 2021 tops it. Making my vision and dream of owning my own shop come to life was an unbelievable feeling and worth all the tears in the process!
The current wedding jewellery trends I’m loving are…
I have had a lot of requests for wishbone/v shape style diamond wedding bands recently which I think look amazing. Trend wise I just love that my brides are wearing bold statement cocktail rings, larger and sometimes slightly more colourful earrings and opting away from the traditional pearls and diamonds we are so used to.
My all time favourite engagement ring is…
It has to be my sister Beth’s engagement ring. It is a modern take on a vintage cluster style diamond ring and when I saw the finished piece it quite literally took my breath away. The process was also one of the biggest secrets I have ever had to keep.
The best gifts for bridesmaids, the groom and the bride are…
For bridesmaids I adore our Echo Collection, you can’t go wrong with a personalised gift. Grooms maybe either a pair of EM lapis lazuli and pink shell cufflinks or an engraved pair. Personally, for a bride I think it should be diamonds so perhaps a piece from our Hera Collection or why not go bespoke?
The best accounts to follow on Instagram for wedding inspo are…
Obviously, The Wedding Edition but also, I just love Rock My Wedding and the Wedding Sparrow for major inspo. We always post our beautiful brides in their EM jewellery which makes me incredibly happy.
My favourite place in the world to skip the crowds is…
Watching the sunrise on a beach on the Suffolk coast or even better a sunset with a G&T in my hand.
The podcast I am listening to is…
I am a big fan of Jessie Ware and always listen to her podcast “Table Manners” but if you want a real giggle I can’t resist listening to “Wednesdays We Drink Wine” with Melissa Tattam and Sophie Habboo. It is an incredibly refreshing take on all kinds of real-life drama and dilemmas accompanied with wine! What could be better?
And finally, what’s next for EM …
It has been a crazy couple of years both personally and professionally, but I think 2022 has a lot of potential for EM! I have got a new collection in the pipeline, we are throwing our now annual Piercing Party again in the Summer as it was such a huge success last year and honestly if another shop space came up that was perfect I might just say YES.
