Truffle Bee, manufacturer of unique luxury event and wedding tablescapes, was founded by Katerina Mechetina in 2019 in Latvia. The design company stems from Katerina’s creative pursuits, including a longtime passion for tablescaping, floristry training at London Flower School and a qualification in Interior Design from the London University of the Arts. These skills perfectly aligned and Katerina realised her dream of creating timeless textiles.
The Truffle Bee approach to design very much mirrors a fashion designer by creating a full table ‘wardrobe’ complete with home accessories. This enables clients to expertly dress their tables with an array of pieces to select from luxurious placemats to finishing flourishes such as decorative bows and egg cosies. The brand’s DNA is all about experimenting with texture and shape, combining a beautiful array of colours and having a keen eye for intricate finishes, and elaborate details.
What is the experience for wedding couples at Truffle Bee?
We believe in the power of storytelling and paying attention to every last detail is essential to this, hence why getting to know our clients is so important. Our thorough consultation helps us to understand how we can create the perfect setting for the celebration. It’s a creative, fun process, where we look into the wedding and reception mood boards whilst getting to know the romantic story of the relationship. Details are extremely important. No stone is left unturned. During the consultation we will also discuss gifting ideas, perhaps thank you sets for the family and bridesmaids, as well as favours for the guests.
Sometimes we invite couples or their event planner to our Latvian boutique to sign-off on materials (we have so many to choose from) and colours or send mood boards with samples and embroidery mock-ups.
A Truffle Bee tablescape can consist of tablecloths, placemats, coasters, and cutlery cases, so as you can imagine there is a lot to consider. Once all the items, materials, and colours are determined, we come to personalisation part where napkins are usually the most popular thing to embroider, however, we can even choose bespoke colours and threads for every single item (especially if we have enough notice).
We ship from our own production facility based in Latvia, hence can always guarantee hassle-free delivery. After the wedding, we send our newlyweds their personalised Truffle Bee gift set that will always remind them of their special day and will become a treasured part of their table wardrobe and future heirloom.
Winter
Christmas Wreath
For this design we’ve paid homage to a yuletide icon, with the collection’s namesake charmingly adorning each crimson velvet placemat. Embracing all the hues of the season, the richly textured fabric makes ‘Christmas Wreath’ an instant classic and the holiday heirloom you can’t wait to unpack year after year, whether you’re hosting a family breakfast on Christmas Day or an intimate dinner party on New Year’s Eve.
Spring
Willow Linen
Truly an example of craftspersonship, and one of the most exquisite and sophisticated pieces of tableware you will come across. Each item of ‘Willow Linen’ has taken over five hours to produce, from the initial hand-cutting to the careful stitching and embroidery. Drawing inspiration from the delicate pussy-willow buds, each piece reflects our dedication to detail and precision-perfect artistry.
Summer
Amalfi
The iconic Italian coast of Amalfi memerised us with its vibrant atmosphere, breathtaking scenery, and leisurely southern charm. We channelled this inspiration into the ‘Amalfi’ collection – full of brightness, blossoming beauty, and the lively ambiance of the azure coastal waves and all in 100% linen.
Autumn
Oyster Faux Leather
‘Oyster Faux Leather’ is a special edition of the best-loved Truffle Bee ‘Oyster’ collection, drawing inspiration from the elegant and textured shape of an oyster shell. The pieces in this collection are made of the finest quality faux leather with a cotton thread finish, that adding a final touch of sophistication to the item. This material is also exceptionally easy to care for whether used in outdoor or indoor table settings.
