Why Paris?
We wanted somewhere abroad but being mid April, we couldn’t guarantee beach weather so we knew we needed a City break. Paris is just a Eurostar away and is so chic, it ticked all our boxes! The fact that the food and city views are amazing was another bonus for our hen weekend.
Where we stayed…
We stayed at the Grand Pigalle Hotel which was perfect for us. The rooms are super cute (best bed I have ever slept in) and the hotel is small and intimate which means we kind of took over (sorry to the other guests). Location was great with lots of bars and restaurants nearby and only a short walk to our trusty Soho House.
What we did…
We started the festivities with a magnum of champagne on the Eurostar (really sets the tone) before dropping our bags at the hotel and heading straight to Soho House for lunch and Mr and Mrs. After a few Aperol’s, we headed back to give out the AMAZING goodie bags and get ready for our cowboy themed night out! We were picked up by limo’s (which was a surprise) and took a tour round Paris, blaring 00’s music and drinking more champagne, stopping outside the Eiffel Tower for a photo opportunity.
The limos dropped us off at Manko where we had dinner and then headed off to a club to end the night. The next day, we had a late breakfast at the hotel and decided our planned boat tour was not going to go down well so we skipped and headed straight for lunch at Gigi’s. Post lunch and some shopping we had a quick change before going back out to roof top drinks at Grands Boulevards Hotel followed by a meal in their downstairs restaurant! The night ended in yet another club and plenty of picantes. Sunday we had a lazy brunch at Soho house and headed back on the train (no champagne this time round).
Where we ate…
Everywhere we ate was amazing but for lunch, Gigi’s was incredible! We had a view of the Eiffel Tower and the food was sensational. We had a private area, life music and more truffle than I would think imaginable. If you go, please get the pavlova, it is life changing. Our favourite evening was the rooftop terrace and dinner at the Grand Boulevards Hotel. I ordered a filthy martini and I was told it would be the best I’ve ever had, and I was not disappointed. The interior is outdoor indoor and there was a DJ playing giving it the perfect girls night out / hen weekend vibe.
What we packed…
We pretty much all wore mini dresses on night one with our insane cowboy hats from Gigi and Olive. I personally was basically dressed in House of CB for the whole weekend as I recently discovered them and don’t own a lot of mini dresses (recommend if you have a small waist like me). Cowboy boots are also a must, they are ideal for day to night and if you want to wear a dress but feel less dressy, they are perfect. Oversized blazers (mine is from The Frankie Shop) are also another key item you can wear with dresses or jeans and day or night. Multi-use items are basically key when packing for a hen / weekend away.
Best moment of the hen weekend…
Without a doubt the limo! The surprise element made it even better but having our favourite music on full volume and seeing Paris at sunset was amazing. That really kicked off the first night in the most perfect way!
