Two and a half years in the making and I am so proud to finally introduce you to CELUI. As a beauty content creator, I have tried every hair product imaginable and felt there was a big gap for a brand that is clean, multi-use and ethically made. Thus, CELUI (pronounced cell-we), which means ‘The One’ in French, was born.
I am all about the most natural approach to maintaining your hair and I struggled to find exactly what I wanted on the current market. Health is wealth and CELUI is proud to have a no nonsense, all-natural approach to healthier hair. If you’ve followed me on social media, you’ll understand that hair oil is my ultimate hero product so I’ve put extensive time, research and care into perfecting our oil which is the basis for smoother, stronger, shinier hair. It is made in the UK for all hair types, vegan and cruelty free too.
It is the only oil I have been using on my lengths for the past 1.5 years and I can really see and feel an incredible improvement in the shine, strength and softness. Not only that but less breakage, split ends and frizz, too.

First launching my jewellery brand almost 3 years ago and now launching my very own haircare brand CELUI. To be able to create products that are exactly what I have been looking for feels surreal and incredible at the same time!
CELUI was inspired by…
Born and raised in The Gambia, surrounded by Moroccan heritage, my mother used an assortment of natural remedies to treat my hair – olive oil being the main one. Given olive oil is a natural emollient that helps nourish and condition hair, my mom and I would use it as a hair treatment regularly. She would also give me a teaspoon every day, as there are so many nutritious benefits for your well-being. Inspired by this, CELUI is a brand built from heritage beauty rituals for all hair types and it is for this reason the main ingredient in our first product the ‘Nourishing Hair Oil’ is olive oil.
The current hair trends I’m loving are…
I love the classic Low Chignon, elegant and timeless. I also love seeing hair being accessorised with pearls and rhinestones too. I feel it really elevates the look and makes it more special!
My top 3 tips for healthy hair are…
- Oil your lengths as much as your hair type will allow. I do this once daily with a few drops. CELUI’s Nourishing Hair Oil is non-greasy so the hair doesn’t look oily after application but instead, it enhances your shine instantly!
- Use a hair mask once a week on your lengths for extra nourishment and hydration.
- Sleep with a silk cap. You may not look your sexiest self but it helps reduce friction against your pillow, locks in your hair’s moisture and helps tame frizz. It results in smoother, softer hair.
For my own wedding hair I chose…
I went for 2 looks – one for day and one for night. Given my wedding was in The Gambia on the beach, I had to take humidity and wind into consideration. I wanted my hair to stay put and not be flying around. For the ceremony, I opted for a low slick ponytail with Hollywood waves and pearl detail around the root of the pony. For the evening I went for a slick bun with rhinestone intertwined to complement the details on the back of my 2nd dress.

I’ve only been once for my honeymoon this year but the Maldives was beyond paradise, heaven on earth. We’d like to visit more often when the occasion calls for it.
